Kept in Perfect Peace

Isaiah 26 was written during Assyria's siege of the city of Samaria. It was a time of great upheaval much like today. The kingdom was divided because of sin; sin always causes division. The people were under condemnation because of their idolatry, following other gods and following after other nations. There was great upheaval and unrest just like the volatile times we’re living in today. This is a pressure cooker world, and the heat has been turned up, bringing everything to a boiling point.
