Laying Down Your Garment Before the Lord

Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey the week before his death and resurrection. The donkey and the street were covered with garments and palm branches. It was the fulfillment of prophecy by the prophet Zechariah about the coming Messiah. Laying palm branches and garments on the road before a ruler was an act of homage and submission When they laid down their garment before the Lord, it showed that they accepted Jesus as the messianic King sent from God.
