Do You Know What Manner of Spirit You Are Of?

Man is distinct from all the rest of creation because he is made in the image of God. This wonderful creation of God that was fearfully and wonderfully made, has a body, soul and spirit. 

1 Thessalonians 5:23 b

23 I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bible makes it clear that while the body is the physical container, it is the soul and spirit that are eternal and who you really are.

There are many people who have lived their whole lives in ignorance or willful neglect of a life after death.

But on their death bed they suddenly realize that they were more than physical beings. Only a fool lives for this world without any thought of eternity. These physical bodies are called an earthly house, a tabernacle, and a tent that will pass away but the soul and spirit are eternal. You were born for eternity!

It is the spirit of man that is the contact or connection point for God. 

Proverbs 20:27 NLT

27 The Lord’s light penetrates the human spirit, exposing every hidden motive.

God sees our spirit and He knows what spirit we are of, but do you know what manner of spirit you are of?
