Don't Hang Your Judas

When parents try to come up with a name for their newborn son, they might consider the names: Judah, Judd, Jude or Judson but not Judas! Because the name Judas is synonymous with one of the most reviled characters in all of history, Judas Iscariot. The name Judas brings to mind a Traitor, Impostor, and Rebel. The name Judas is associated with betrayal, deceit and backstabbing. Judas died in shame as he ended his life by hanging. The words of Jesus ring true, “It were better for him to have never been born”.
