The bricks of slavery in Egypt pointed to the furnace of persecution in Babylon. Both were designed to break and oppress the people of God.
Psalm 106:42
42 Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.
The Egyptians tried to wear the Israelites down, they mistreated them and forced them into slavery. Just like Satan who wants to wear out the saints of God by oppression.
